October, November, December, February, March
October to March offers the most comfortable weather for exploring the fort and old town on foot, avoiding the region's hot summers.
The nearest railway station is Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh, about 36 km away, and the nearest airport is Gwalior, roughly 219 km away; regular buses connect Chanderi to Gwalior, Jhansi, Bhopal, and Indore.

One full day is generally enough to see the fort, Koshak Mahal, and weaving clusters, though two days allow a more relaxed pace including nearby sites.
Chanderi is best known for its centuries-old handwoven silk-cotton sarees and its cluster of medieval forts, palaces, and gateways built under the Malwa Sultanate and Mughal periods.
