Chaukhandi Stupa

Chaukhandi Stupa marks the spot where Buddha is said to have met his first five disciples, its ancient brick mound later crowned with an octagonal tower built by the Mughals to commemorate Emperor Humayun’s visit. Chaukhandi Stupa is typically explored in about half day. The best time to visit is October to March. It falls within Sarnath, Varanasi district, and Uttar Pradesh, India.
