State: Madhya Pradesh
Ideal Duration: 2-3 Days
October, November, December, February, March
October to March offers the most comfortable weather for sightseeing and temple visits; Navratri is a particularly significant but crowded time to visit Pitambara Peeth.
Datia has its own railway station just a couple of kilometres from Pitambara Peeth, with Gwalior Airport around 70-90 km away; it is also well connected by road to Gwalior, Jhansi, and Orchha.
The Pitambara Peeth temple complex and town center are fairly accessible, though the Datia Palace involves narrow, steep staircases, so seniors may wish to explore only the lower levels of the palace.
A single day is usually sufficient to visit Pitambara Peeth, Datia Palace, and Sonagiri, making it a convenient stop on a longer Bundelkhand itinerary.
