State: Madhya Pradesh
Ideal Duration: 2-3 Days
October, November, December, February, March
October to March offers the most comfortable temperatures for sightseeing across Dhar Fort, Bhojshala, and nearby Mandu.
Dhar does not have its own airport or major railway station; the nearest of both is Indore, about 60-65 km away, from where Dhar is reached by road in roughly 1.5-2 hours.
Dhar's in-town monuments like the fort and mosques are relatively accessible, though a day trip to Mandu involves more walking across spread-out ruins, so seniors should pace visits and use a vehicle between monument clusters.
A single overnight stay is usually enough, allowing a half day for Dhar's own monuments and a half or full day for a Mandu excursion.
