Karnataka Jain Temple Tour Package 3 Days Itinerary
Day 01: Bangalore – Shravanabelagola – Moodbidri
Your spiritual journey begins with a pick-up from Bangalore (Airport, Railway Station, or Residence) by our representative. From there, we will proceed to Shravanabelagola, a sacred Jain pilgrimage site. On arrival, visit the magnificent 57-foot tall monolithic statue of Bhagawan Bahubali (also known as Gommateshwara), located atop Vindhyagiri Hill. This iconic statue, erected in 981 AD by Chavundraya, is the tallest monolith in the world and a revered symbol of Jain devotion.
After receiving divine blessings, visit Chandragiri Hill, home to several ancient Basadis (Jain temples). Post-lunch, we will continue to Moodbidri, an important Jain religious center, also known as “Jain Kashi” for its collection of 18 beautiful Basadis and ancient Jain scriptures, the Dhawalas, found on palm leaves.
Upon arrival in Moodbidri, check into your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 02: Moodbidri
Begin your day early with a temple tour in Moodbidri. At 6:30 AM, visit the Badaga Basadi, a 16th-century temple dedicated to Lord Chandranatha. Next, visit the famous Tribhuvan Tilak Chudamani Basadi, also known as the Thousand Pillar Temple or Hosa Basadi, the largest and most elaborately carved Basadi in Moodbidri, built in the Vijayanagar style.
Continue exploring other significant Basadis, including:
– Hire Basadi (Ammanavara Basadi), dedicated to Lord Shanthinatha.
– Shettra Basadi
– Leppada Basadi
– Guru Basadi
– Derammashetti Basadi
– Patashala Basadi
– Kallu Basadi
In the evening, visit the Ancient Jain Pond (Betkeri water pond) and the National Archaeological Monument of Jain Tombs (Samadhis of Jain Ascetics). Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Moodbidri – Dharmasthala – Bangalore
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head towards Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, a unique pilgrimage town that harmoniously blends Hinduism and Jainism. Situated on the banks of the Nethravathi River, Dharmasthala is a significant religious center. Upon arrival, visit the Chandranathaswami Basadi (Jain temple) near Nelyadi Beedu and the Lord Manjunatha Swami Temple (Hindu temple). Don’t miss the towering statue of Bhagawan Bahubali (Gommateshwara), another striking symbol of Jainism.
After a peaceful visit, begin your journey back to Bangalore. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your residence, railway station, or airport, concluding the tour with divine blessings and cherished memories.
