Day 1: Arrival and Exploration

8:00 AM: Depart from Kolkata by air-conditioned car or passenger van. Alternatively, pick-up is available from Science City at 8:30 AM. Enjoy a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Godkhali, the endpoint of the road network in mainland India.

 

12:00 PM: Board the boat at Godkhali and travel to Gosaba Island, a bustling market hub for surrounding villages.

 

1:30 PM: Arrive at the resort on Sonagaon Godhkhali Island and enjoy a relaxing lunch.

 

3:00 PM: Take a walk through the picturesque paddy fields and visit a village of honey collectors and fishermen. Experience the local culture in this car-free, electricity-free village.

 

3:30 PM: Embark on a boat ride for bird watching, spotting various species such as kingfishers, egrets, and brahmani eagles, and marvel at the mangroves with creatures like fiddler crabs and mudskippers.

 

6:30 PM: Return to the resort after sunset.

 

7:00 PM: Enjoy an evening of traditional tribal dance and music, with an opportunity to join in and savor refreshments.

 

9:00 PM: Dinner is served at the resort, where you’ll spend the night in comfort.

Day 2: Jungle Safari

7:30 AM: Start early and board a luxury boat, complete with necessary permissions and a forest-approved guide. Cruise through one of the largest mangrove forests in the world, rich in diverse flora and fauna.

 

– Explore key locations including Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, and Dobanki watch towers. Visit the Sajnekhali Tiger Project, Crocodile Project, Turtle Project, Mangrove Interpretation Center, Bono Bibi Temple, and enjoy a canopy walk.

 

– Search for wildlife such as spotted deer, wild boars, civet cats, monitor lizards, crocodiles, dolphins, and the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.

 

– Meals and refreshments are served on the boat throughout the day.

Day 3: Return to Kolkata

8:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast at the resort.
